B I O G R A P H Y

DegHerl musical poetry stems essentially from the name, sounding as The Girl. A game of phonetic cabala that refers to the visions animating the lyrics: imaginal stories transporting the listener into the unexplored land of metaphors and analogies.

If the lyrics show the way, music is the vehicle: elegant and elaborate post-punk vibes with balanced forays into new-wave and dark-psyc dimensions.

The band’s stylistic identity is rooted in the extensive experience of its members, several of whom were active figures in the 1980s underground scene. This isn’t a mere nostalgia-driven revival; it is an authentic tribute from those who lived through the movement's genesis firsthand 

From time to time DegHerl loves to get lost into the electro-industrial cosmos, such as in the 2023 single No Moon (remixed by the Italian dark-wave gem European Ghost) or as in "Less Than Human", part of the Album "Script of the 40th Bridge - The Chameleons Italian Tribute" released by Darkitalia label

DegHerl have recorded various Singles, two EPs (Lost and Found and EPdemie) and in Spring 2026 the new Album "DegHerl" will be released.

La poetica musicale dei DegHerl nasce essenzialmente dal loro nome: la pronuncia, infatti, suona come The Girl, La Ragazza. Un gioco di «cabala fonetica» che rimanda alle visioni che animano i testi delle loro canzoni: storie immaginali che trasportano chi ascolta nella terra sempre inesplorata delle metafore e delle analogie.

Se i testi indicano la strada, la musica è veicolo: sonorità post-punk eleganti e raffinate, atmosfere di tango elettrico sino ad incursioni equilibrate nella dimensione wave e dark psych.

Alcuni membri della formazione vantano un passato attivo nella scena underground degli anni '80, avendo militato in band del periodo. Non si tratta quindi di un semplice revival di quell'epoca d'oro, ma di autentico amore da parte di chi ha vissuto in prima persona quel movimento.

Talvolta amano perdersi nel cosmo Electro-wave, come nel singolo 2023 No Moon, remixato dalla band dark-wave italiana European Ghost, o nella cover di "Less Than Human", inclusa nell'Album "Script of the 40th Bridge - The Chameleons Italian Tribute" pubblicato da Darkitalia.

Nella loro carriera i DegHerl hanno inciso vari singoli, due EP (EPdemie e Lost and Found), e nella primavera 2026 verrà pubblicato il nuovo Album "DegHerl".
